If you follow Asian American and Asian Canadian entertainment, you’ve probably heard of Kollaboration, the annual talent show that was founded in Los Angeles in 2000. The organization is dedicated to promoting Asian American and Canadian talents through entertainment and performing arts. They’ve expanded into 13 cities across North America, including Washington, Chicago, Houston, and of course my very own city, Toronto. So if you’re not aware of this very cool event, Kollaboration Toronto 2012 is happening this Saturday, September 15th, at the Toronto Centre for the Arts (5040 Yonge Street), showcasing the talents of our Asian community. Hosted by founder and comedian, “PK” Paul Kim and Aastha, the show features finalists, Team Sexy – a super-smooth dance crew, Young – one of the nation’s top beatboxers, Thoroughbred – hip-hop duo, Intentional Accidental – a nine-person acapella group, Silvia & Jerome – acoustic duo, and Maybe Refuge – rock band, and performances and appearances by Dumbfoundead and DJ Zo, Joseph Vincent, and Toronto’s own KRNFX and Sylvia Ta (a.k.a. Beautycakez).
That’s not all, I also wanted to announce that an exclusive MILLIONS trailer will be screening at the event, directly preceding the show. So make sure to get there early to catch a never-before-seen sneak peak of MILLIONS (BEFORE 7:30PM!). The trailer won’t be appearing online, so you won’t want to miss it!
